How we use information
We use information to create and operate memorials; provide editing, sharing, contribution and moderation tools; generate requested memorial content; process orders and deliver QR plaques; communicate about accounts and contributions; prevent misuse; support users; improve performance; and comply with law.
Public and private memorials
Memorial organisers choose whether a published memorial is public or private. Public memorials and approved public contributions can be viewed, shared and indexed by search engines. Private memorials are available through controlled or direct access but should not be treated as a place for highly sensitive information. Organisers can review their settings before publishing and can change access later.
Contributors and responsibility for others
Organisers may invite family and friends to contribute. If you provide information about another person, you must have an appropriate basis to do so and respect their privacy, dignity and intellectual-property rights. Organisers control approval and removal of contributions according to their plan and settings.
Service providers and international processing
We use carefully selected providers for cloud hosting and storage, databases, payments, email delivery, media processing, analytics, security, customer support and requested AI-assisted content creation. They may process limited information on our behalf in Australia or other countries and must protect it consistently with their contracts and applicable law. We do not sell personal information.
Retention, security and deletion
We retain information while needed to provide a memorial, meet legal and accounting obligations, resolve disputes and maintain security. Organisers can delete memorials and may request account deletion. Some records may remain for a limited period in backups, fraud-prevention systems or where retention is legally required. We use encryption in transit, access controls, monitoring and other reasonable safeguards, but no internet service can guarantee absolute security.
Cookies and communications
Essential technologies keep the service secure and functioning. Where required, optional analytics or marketing technologies are used only with the relevant choice or consent. Transactional messages may be sent about accounts, memorials and contributions. Marketing emails include an unsubscribe option.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may ask to access, correct, delete, restrict or receive a copy of your personal information, withdraw consent or object to certain processing. We may need to verify your identity. You may also complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner or the relevant local authority.
Children and changes to this policy
Accounts are intended for adults. We do not knowingly permit children under 16 to open accounts. Memorial content may concern people of any age when supplied responsibly by an adult. We may update this policy as our services or legal obligations change and will publish the revised effective date here.
